If you have found this post via some QR code stuff, congrats ! You had found my last message as I am penning off from SAP
I duly recall the first day of work over my first job whereby I would have never know what to do and what to expect in the first day of office. While today is my last day in SAP, I am also both excited and fearful of what the future holds for me.
In essence, I shall be joining a small local company of 70 odd people as a General Manager - it also would be my first role in management moving on from an individual contributor. As many had said, managing people would had been the most challenging of all because people are volatile, sensitive and change very frequently. Of course, I am not disregarding that I am not part of the "people" but I hope my EQ would had been enough to handle these new subjects which I am supposed to work with.
For 6 months in SAP, the most useful thing which I had picked up for my personal life is when I attended "The 7 Habits of Effective People" training course. It had been a paradigm shift of how I view life itself and also given me the confidence to focus and control of my personal life as well as prioritize tasks and responsibilities. While I had not managed to move very far from where I had started but in my experience, people who doesn't have a sense of direction would had been every worse or disastrous. I strongly encourage you to attend if you have not and revisit if you did attended before - put yourself into the training and think ahead; it doesn't require rocket science to learn
While there are too many people to thank for an exit message but if I may, I would like to thank YOU (yes you who found this message) because of taking the effort to wonder and trouble to read through till this far. I'm sure there are many intelligent people out there - but ultimately, it's the extra effort that makes one intelligent people from another. Nevertheless, I hope SAP would have been a good grounds for you and my wish for you is a successful career and life ahead in the years to come.
Take care,
James
